Visit Washington’s Whistle Stop Ale House For A Beer And A Blast From The Past
The Whistle Stop Ale House in downtown Renton offers a family-friendly atmosphere with elevated pub fare and a rich railroad history.
For over a century, people have come to this neighborhood in downtown Renton, either to catch a train or to enjoy a drink with friends. Renton's railroad past is certainly still evident, although the city is now known to some as the Jet Capital Of The World thanks to Boeing's influence.
The Whistle Stop Ale House is the perfect family pub for such a neighborhood. Since its 1995 opening, this family-owned restaurant has been feeding locals and any tourist lucky enough to find it.
The Whistle Stop Ale House is located at 809 S 4th St., near the heart of downtown Renton.
The warm yellow building is impossible to miss, and it matches the cheery atmosphere you'll encounter inside.
The restaurant is pretty new in comparison to some of the other neighborhood spots, but the building is much older.
The train on the side pays homage to the local railroad history.
Although this place is primarily an ale house, it's extremely family-friendly, and little ones love the themed decor inside.
Adults, make sure to check out the cherrywood back bar, which traveled to the Alaskan Gold Rush before finding its home right here.
Here, you'll find 18 rotating taps which feature beer and lagers from the Pacific Northwest as well as all over the world.
The taps often change daily, so make sure to check out the selection before you decide. And if beer isn't your first choice, check out the solid wine and cocktail lists.
Of course, a fun ambiance and a great beer selection will only get you so far. The main reason people come to the Whistle Stop is to eat.
The food, which can best be described as elevated pub fare, is exceptional. Whether you got for a hearty burger, fish & chips, a salad or a special, you won't be disappointed.
If you come on. Saturday or Sunday, prepare to enjoy one of the best brunches of your life.
