This famous location at 1912 Pike Place in Seattle is quite literally where it all began. The modest sign out front is over 50 years old, and it gives way to a 1,000-square-foot shop still in operation. Of course, the line still winds out the door, and it's hard to imagine any other way given the rampant success of the Starbucks franchise. If you're feeling like exploring some of the more local coffee shops in Seattle, Sound and Fog might be right up your alley. Located in West Seattle, this store has a decidedly minimalist vibe, all while promising some of the most delicious coffee and espresso drinks in the city. Another must-try spot is Moonshot Coffee, although this one is takeout only. Moonshot also carries a small selection of beer and wine.
