Washington’s Most Under-The-Radar Restaurant Will Steal Your Heart
We’ve got some nationally recognized and locally famous restaurants here in Washington, and they’re fantastic. But if you’ve lived here long enough, you know we’ve also got quite a few hidden gems that serve incredible food. One of them happens to be a small seafood spot on the Long Beach Peninsula that regularly delights the Washingtonians lucky enough to discover it.
The Depot is located in the tiny community of Seaview.
The building is a 120-year-old former railroad station, hence the name.
Don't be fooled by the simple exterior, though. Inside you'll find a cozy, welcoming, intimate space.
This may be a fine dining restaurant, but you don't have to change out of your casual vacation clothes to enjoy it.
As you can imagine, there are a lot of seafood options on the menu, and they're wonderful.
The Clams Bucatini (pictured here) is a popular choice, and the fresh, local, and wild Catch of the Day never disappoints. They even serve their own version of Dungeness Crab Mac & Cheese.
Of course, if you're not a seafood fan, you'll have plenty of choices as well.
There's an entire section of the menu dedicated to Landfood Entrees, and it doesn't disappoint.
Co-owner and chef Michael Lalewicz does an amazing job with the menu here.
Michael has traveled all over the world, and he brings a world of culinary knowledge to the table. He's been in the kitchen (at home and at restaurants) since he was a teenager.
The Depot has won numerous awards and was called one of the best dinner houses in the Northwest by Gerry Frank in The Oregonian.
Online travel publication Coast Weekend has awarded it Best Chowder, Best Fine Dining, Best Service Anywhere, and Best Desserts.
Speaking of dessert, you'll definitely want to save room for it.
The Chocolate Lover's Delight is as scrumptious as it looks.
The Depot Restaurant is open daily from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The next time you're vacationing on the coast, treat yourself to a meal here and you'll see why so many locals love it.
Address: 1208 38th Place, Seaview, WA, 98644
Have you ever dined at
The Depot? Although our coast is full of delicious dining options, this restaurant is definitely one of the best.
