This Klondike Themed Hotel In Washington Will Take You Back In Time

The Arctic Club in Seattle offers a luxurious and historic stay with elegant rooms and unique amenities.

History buffs, we've found the perfect hotel for you the next time you're in Seattle. Not only does it have a fascinating history (and the best theme ever), but it's incredibly elegant.

The Arctic Club is located at 700 3rd Avenue in Seattle.

The hotel is modern, but the distinguished and intricately detailed building is not.

During the Yukon gold rush days, The Arctic Club was a social institution for the men who returned after striking it rich.

The club was pretty small, since most people who ventured out returned with only memories. But that just made it seem even more exclusive.

Th club was originally located in the Morrison Hotel. But in 1916, the members hired A. Warren Gould, one of the city’s most prominent architects, to design a new building.

Gould created an eight-story building with fine Alaskan marble and terra cotta panels, giving it an incredibly unique look.

The Arctic Club once held a a ladies’ tea room, billiard and card rooms, a bowling alley, and a barber shop... but the highlight was always the The Northern Lights Dome Room.

These days, the original ornate formal dining room is used for gorgeous weddings and other upscale private events.

These days, the Arctic Club is a hotel that's open to the public -- but you'll still feel like you're getting the VIP treatment when you visit.

The guest rooms and suites are equal parts elegant and comfortable, sticking to simple eye-pleasing colors and textures.

The artwork on the walls feature native Alaskan Inuits photographed by Edward Curtis, an early member of the Arctic Club.

You can still play pool here...

... and you can enjoy a nightcap (or two) at the magnificent Polar Bar, which is as glamorous as it looks.

Relax on leather seats and order a carefully crafted cocktail from the menu.

And if you're hungry, Juno serves North American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.

The hotel has room service (of course), but you might prefer to enjoy your meal in this beautiful setting.

But, just like it was a century ago, the Northern Lights Dome Room remains the focal point.

Talk about a dream wedding.

The Arctic Building is a Seattle City Landmark, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. It's definitely one of Washington's delightfully unique places to stay.
