What’s the most beautiful campsite in Virginia?

While we truly believe that all of our state’s campsites offer loads of scenic beauty, there are some that stand out as being a little extra special. New River Campground is one of them. Located just outside of Independence, Virginia, this stretch of shoreline is nothing short of a retreat, and also one of the state’s most amazing hidden and undiscovered gems! Sitting at an elevation of 2,600 feet, the campground covers a mile of riverfront property. This particular stretch of the river is where the North and South Forks converge, meaning you’ll enjoy expansive views of the water from every campsite. If you are looking to camp with expansive waterfront views, this is the place!
