If you're looking for an outdoor excursion in Vermont that the whole family can enjoy, head to the 3-Mile Loop around Colchester Pond. Located just outside of Burlington. the hike is a popular destination for people of all levels. Because the trail is so scenic, it's also a great spot for nature trips.
While the trail is rated easy, part of the Colchester Pond Loop has an elevation of just over 300 feet. Due to weather conditions, it's also recommended to hike the trail from April through October.
To reach Colchester Pond, head to Colchester Village in Winooski, Vermont. It'll take about 20 minutes to reach the hike from Burlington.
Everyone on the hike, including your leashed dog, will be wowed by the breathtaking views of the forest overlooking the water.
As you meander along the trail, have fun imagining that you're in a fairytale. Feel free to also skip, run, or stroll while you're enjoying your time in nature.
