This Brand New Rural Getaway in Georgia Is the Ultimate Luxury Vacation
Be one of the first to check out Quercus, a brand new luxury getaway in Middle Georgia that's the perfect blend of rural scenery and luxury accommodations.
We're always on the lookout for cool new attractions here at Only In Your State, and the one we're featuring today is particularly magical. Quercus just opened up in Gay, Georgia in late September 2024. This is a beautiful resort in Middle Georgia that perfectly combines the comfort of luxury with rural vibes - plus opportunities for fun recreation and world-class dining. This is an all-in-one vacation package in some pretty spectacular surroundings, and if you've been craving a getaway, this is one that's worth splurging for. This may be a brand new resort, but it's quickly on its way to becoming one of the best places to stay in Georgia, and it's definitely one for the bucket list.
If you're wondering about the unique name, Quercus is Latin for "oak tree." This is certainly a fitting name for this place, which has a heavy focus on its pristine natural surroundings. It's located a little over an hour south of Atlanta on a working farm in the tiny town of Gay.

There are four residences for rent here, with one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites available. Each is decorated with a mix of antique furnishings and new products, and I love how the colors look so natural. I'm usually a fan of bright and vibrant shades, but the muted tones here are the perfect complement to the natural world outside the windows.

Meals are included in the price of your stay, and you'll get to enjoy some pretty phenomenal dishes here. The on-site restaurant, Uberto, uses locally-procured ingredients of the highest quality. Uberto's executive chef is Ryan Smith, James Beard Award-nominated mastermind behind Staplehouse, one of the best restaurants in Atlanta. The creative meals served at Uberto are often harvested right here at the Quercus Farm.

With 3,800 acres to explore, there's a lot to do during your stay at Quercus. The property is home to a forest and lakes and also contains part of the Flint River and Red Oak Creek. You'll find an array of outdoor activities to enjoy, with guided options like fishing, kayaking, cycling, and horseback riding.

All of the on-site activities that are offered are private and reserved only for guests staying at Quercus. This is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a pampered stay in luxury while still remaining active and enjoying time outdoors in a beautiful environment.
