Farm to table dining is the “in” thing these days, but let’s face it… Vermont has always been into fresh produce, supporting local farmers and fantastic tasting foods. So it’s really no surprise that you’ll find some of the best places that offer farm to table dining right here in little old Vermont. Let’s take a look at a few of the places that have dishes that have made our taste buds jump off our tongue and slap us across the face. OK, not literally, but you get the picture.

Everyone simply raves about this fine place and for good reason. Did you know that Hen of the Wood was named one of the best in the world by Conde Nast Traveler?


(Note: as of October 2020, Newport Ciderhouse is permanently closed). Located right in the Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center, you'll love the fresh fare at this hip restaurant. The burgers here are out of this world!

A fun and friendly place with incredible dishes (pictured is a braised bacon with house pickled ramps), you can't help but have a great time at the Backroom mingling with other guests as well as the chef. Simply amazing and perfectly unique.


The food here is as fresh as it is beautiful. Michael's on the Hill has been proudly sourcing local foods long before it became the in-thing.


The outdoor patio is a great place to enjoy a prized Vermont beer, but be sure to dive into the menu here. It's simply delicious!
