19. Roxie’s - 151 Route 4A E, Castleton
Fries are sold by the 1/2 pint, pint or quart and boy are they good! You have the option of adding chili, gravy or cheese for a little more, but rest assured, these don't need anything extra. We wish it was open year-round, but it's a summer staple for the locals and is well worth the stop when it's in season. 18. Mr. Darcy’s Bar & Grill - 31 Rt 103 S, Ludlow

17. Whetstone Station Restaurant and Brewery - 36 Bridge St, Brattleboro
Located on the Vermont-New Hampshire border (literally), the hands down favorite here is the Peanut Butter Burger, and you simply can't have a burger without fries. Who would have thought? Be ready for a fantastic beer selection, too! Check out their Facebook page to see opening hours and specials.
16. Cajun’s Snack Bar - 1594 Vt Route 100, Lowell
While Cajun's in only open in the summer, the fries here are so good that they couldn't be left out. This place is a summer staple for locals and visitors alike, and no one ever leaves disappointed!
15. Two Brothers Tavern - 86 Main St, Middlebury
At the root of every great poutine is french fries, and boy are they good at Two Brothers Tavern. Potato perfection!
14. Burke’s Publick House - 482 Vermont 114, East Burke
Great vegetarian options available with your golden fries at Burke's Publick House. This little gem near Burke Mountain also has a fantastic beer selection. Cheers!

12. Cornerstone Pub & Kitchen - 47 N Main St, Barre

11. Blue Paddle Bistro - 316 US Rt 2, South Hero
The locals are lucky to have a place like the Blue Paddle Bistro, and for everyone else - it's worth a drive! Delicious fries accompany some fantastic meals such as the gorgonzola crusted filet mignon (pictured) or the the glazed salmon on cranberry risotto. Delicious!
10. Burger Barn - Jeffersonville
This little place serves up some big burgers! Hand made fries and onion rings will keep you coming back to the window to order more. The Nutty Goat is definitely worth a try with a side of fries - maple candied walnuts, bacon, goat cheese and caramelized onions. Be aware that it's cash only.
9. Lil’ Britain - 116 North St, Bennington

Whether you like poutine, gravy or plain french fries, Hazel will deliver potatoes done like no other.
7. Roots the Restaurant - 51 Wales St, Rutland
Roots is a great place for some good old farm to table dining. Loads of healthy options, but if you want to indulge on something other than their amazing fries, the cheese fondue is a must!
6. Worthy Burger - 56 Rainbow St, South Royalton

Al's French Frys is the kind of place you remember from your childhood - and it really hasn't changed since then. 50's diner vibe, cafeteria style service, and some of the best hand cut you'll ever taste. There is plenty of vinegar here for splashing on your "Frys." And they serve some of the best burgers in Vermont.
4. J.Morgan’s Steakhouse - 100 State St, Montpelier

The Bench certainly knows how to do comfort food right! Whether you get the poutine (with Bridport cheddar curds and ale gravy) or truffle fries (with shaved parmesan cheese and herbs), you'll see that this place knows how to do fries right!

Entrees at the Black Sheep Bistro come with family style fries for the whole table - complete with sweet basil, garlic, and ketchup dipping sauces.
1. Prohibition Pig - 23 S Main St, Waterbury
Five words: Truffle oil duck fat fries. The fries alone have these happy customers coming back again and again. Their bacon BBQ sauce is out of this world - put it on their pork sandwich or any of the burgers and it's a meal you'll be dreaming about until the next time you go back.
