This Epic Tram Ride Is An Unforgettable Way To Experience Wyoming

If you've ever skied at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, you already know it's an amazing place to experience the great Wyoming outdoors. Winter isn't the only time you can enjoy what we have to offer, though.

The same tram that ferries skiers and snowboarders to the top of the mountain in the winter runs in the summer, too, transporting visitors up even after the snow has melted. It's a fun ride and an epic way to sight-see.

The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, located at Teton Village, is about 12 miles northwest of Jackson Hole.

The aerial tram runs almost year-round. The summer season is early June through early October.

There is a fee to ride, but you can get a discount by purchasing your ticket ahead of time online.

Visitors enjoy a bird's-eye view as they ascend skyward over 4,000 vertical feet.

There's no better way to see the stunning Wyoming scenery.

Where else could you get a view like this of Teton Village?

Or a breathtaking view like this?

Even after you've reached the summit, the fun isn't over yet.

This is where the ultimate views can be seen in spectacular panoramic 360 degrees.

The tram is the best way to get to many of the awesome hiking trails meandering over the mountainside, and it's a great way to access the wilderness area beyond.

Those with the experience and equipment enjoy the challenge of rock climbing near the summit.

Adrenaline junkies can't get enough of the rush from paragliding off the largest vertical drop in the country.

Of course, no one expects you to head down the mountain hungry. On Rendezvous Peak you'll find Corbet's Cabin, a warming hut that stays open through the summer to provide snacks and hard goods - including souvenirs of your tram ride - to anyone traveling to the top.

The menu isn't large, but if you're stopping at Corbet's, you have to try the waffles. They're tradition, and can be ordered five ways, including with peanut butter and smoked bacon.

At Corbet's Cabin you can also get coffee, hot cocoa, tea, soda, sports drinks, juice, beer, or wine, and the hot drinks can be doctored up with a shot of Irish cream, schnapps, or Jameson, if you like. Snacks include candy, trail mix, chips, cookies, and brownies, in addition to waffles.

Once up the summit, you might never want to come down.
