There are a lot of places to enjoy a scenic drive in Wisconsin, but some of the best can be found in Marinette County. Less crowded than some other Badger State destinations, the county’s backroads are gorgeous and will take you through wild forests, past scenic parks and wild waterfalls. Marinette County is located in the far northeastern region of Wisconsin, bordering Michigan's Upper Peninsula, an area known for its lush forests, numerous rivers and lakes. It adds up to a picture-perfect setting for enjoying fall beauty. The county’s vast forests come alive with color.

They are gorgeous throughout the fall season – they practically explode with color, but even on the tail end of the season they are still very pretty.

The county has mapped out some of the best roads in its Fall Color Driving Tour.

It outlines some gorgeous drives that wind through the county’s backroads.

Pick a route that’s perfect for you – the routes will take you past wineries, waterfalls, scenic lookouts, and more.

They will also take you to places to buy local wine, fresh pie, and pumpkins!

The county is known for its gorgeous waterfalls.

They are all pretty in the fall – three good ones to see include Veteran’s Falls, Dave’s Falls, and Strong Falls.

There are some really nice trails to explore near the route and some great scenic lookouts.

One of the best can be found at Thunder Mountain, Bring some comfortable shoes and enjoy the park’s trails!

Goodman and McClinton Parks offer a nice place to get out and stretch your legs.

A $5 day pass is required per vehicle, for entry into the county parks. Day passes are available for purchase at any County park entrance, or they can be purchased online and printed in advance.
