Cassville (population 777) was founded in 1827, making it one of Wisconsin's oldest communities.

It was named after Lewis Cass, the governor of Michigan Territory from 1813 to 1831.

During the mid-1800s, Cassville was a bustling river town and a hub for steamboat traffic along the Mississippi River.

It’s still a working waterway, although you’ll find many pleasure boats on the water on warm fall days. It's also the place to catch a great sunset.

This is the USS LST-325, a decommissioned tank landing ship that once served proudly in the United States Navy. In 2009, this living relic earned a well-deserved place on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. It recently sailed right past Cassville!
