In fact, over the last 20 years, Wisconsin has really taken initiative to revive former booming downtown areas. 1. Beloit
Home to Beloit College, the academic crowd definitely spills out into downtown. But while there are cafes hosting plenty of high brow discussions, there are also 35 places to shop as well as 15 places to dine.
2. La Crosse
Just steps away from the Mississippi River, downtown La Crosse has all sorts of things to offer you, from museums to art galleries to restaurants. Numerous festivals throughout the year make this Main Street come to life. In fact, some believe La Crosse to be the best city in America.
3. Sturgeon Bay
When it comes to charming Wisconsin Main Streets, Sturgeon Bay has it all. Downtown Sturgeon Bay is truly quaint, with all sorts of stores to grab your attention. 10. Neillsville
If you like architecture and history, downtown Neillsville is definitely for you. The number of old buildings earned it a place in the National Register of Historic Places. Walking downtown, you'll quickly fall in love with one of the best Wisconsin Main Streets in the area.
