The Quiet Fishing Town In Wisconsin That Seems Frozen In Time

Not too long ago, Wisconsin was known for its fishing towns. Fishing was a major way that people supported themselves. It isn't surprising, either, because Wisconsin has so many lakes and rivers. But many of those old fishing towns in Wisconsin have fallen by the wayside. That isn't the case in Marinette. Marinette, Wisconsin has a rich fishing history, and it's still one of the best Wisconsin fishing towns as well as one of the most charming and peaceful small towns in Wisconsin.

This town was a large lumber and fishing town. This area was originally settled by an Algonquin group of the Menominee Nation which grew wild rice here.

It is located along the Menominee River and along Green Bay. The town was named after a Metis trader named Marie Antionette Chevalier.

One trip here, and you will see the historic charm.

As you explore the town, you'll find old-fashioned, historical buildings along with the bountiful fishing culture.

There are loads of great spots for anglers. You'll find world-class fishing of perch, pike, walleye, salmon, sturgeon, trout, and bass.

Downtown Marinette has certainly grown, but it remains quaint and charming. It has several industries besides fishing to support it like shipbuilding, airline components, helicopters, chemicals, and paper-making.

Marinette is an angler's paradise, and it will bring you back to a simpler time.
