Not a Skier? This West Virginia Snow Tubing Spot Is Just as Much Fun

Fly down the mountain at exhilarating speeds when you spend time at Coca-Cola Tubing Park in West Virginia.

There's so much to love about winter in West Virginia, and in my opinion, cold-weather adventures are at the top of the list. From bundling up and enjoying a wintery hike through the woods to zipping down a mountain at exhilarating speeds, the options to explore the Mountain State are endless. But hands-down, one of the most fun options is snow tubing.

Most people are familiar with Snowshoe Mountain Resort's opportunities for skiing and snowboarding. It's even been referred to as a "Mini Colorado," with its three different skiing territories, all contained within the same area. Also unique is the fact that the ski village sits atop the mountain. The runs range from beginner-friendly to double-black diamond, ensuring that everyone can choose the adventure they're up for.

But there's one activity that can get you down the mountain with no skis needed: snowtubing. For this, you'll head to the Silver Creek area of the resort, where Coca-Cola Tube Park awaits. With eight dedicated tubing lanes, the tube park promises endless fun for all ages four and up.

How does it work? You'll start by booking a date and time online. The current season is open until March 8th, and tubing sessions are booked in just under two-hour slots. You'll want to wear plenty of layers, including some waterproof clothing, gloves, and snowboots. Then, prepare to fly!

You and your crew will zoom down the tubing park, which measures six stories tall and spans 900 feet. The feeling of that cold mountain air on your face as you fly down the mountain at impressive speeds is one you won't soon forget! When you're reach the bottom of the hill and are ready to do it all over again, there's a conveyor belt—known as the magic carpet—that will usher you back up the mountain.

The park is open during the day, of course, but it also offers Galactic Snow Tubing at night beginning at 5:00 p.m., when neon lights illuminate the lanes. When you want a quick break from it all, you're invited to enjoy the heated party deck, complete with seating, fire pits, and a view of all the action. Check out the Family Four-Pack for an easy way to save on tickets.

If you need a place to stay, the resort offers lodging, plus a variety of additional wintertime activities like snowmobiling and backcountry adventures. You can learn more by visiting the official Snowshoe Mountain Resort website.

Whether you prefer tubing to skiing or simply enjoy any excuse to be out in the mountains this winter, I think you'll love all that Coca-Cola Tubing Park has to offer.
