We're lucky we get to experience all four seasons here in Washington. Admittedly, though, the colder weather of late fall and early winter sometimes has us feeling like we need to hibernate. But this is actually a fantastic time to spend a weekend away from home with someone special. All of our best spots are pleasantly uncrowded in the off season, especially this gorgeous hidden gem of a bed & breakfast.
Warm Springs Inn & Winery is a historic 9,000 square foot mansion that sits nestled on the banks of the Wenatchee River.
After the Szmania family bought it in 2013, they spent a year having it lovingly renovated and restored before opening it to the public in 2014.
In the spring and summer, happy couples rent the place out for entire weekends, celebrating their nuptials at the gazebo by the river ...
... but after that, this place becomes a full-on winter wonderland.
And there's really no better place than this to cuddle with your better half and stay cozy.
Guests are welcome to hang out in the main part of the mansion, sipping wine by the fireplace.
The Szmania family also grows Sangiovese, Syrah and Merlot grapes and makes their own (delightful) vino.
There are six gorgeous rooms and suites here, each with their own unique theme and decor.
They all have plenty of privacy and private bathrooms as well.
Every morning, owner and chef Ludger Szmania makes breakfast—and this is no ordinary morning meal.
You can expect multiple courses of this locally sourced deliciousness.
You can have a wonderful weekend without leaving the property, but Wenatchee does happen to be a very short drive from Leavenworth.
Check out the Pacific Northwest's favorite Christmas village while you're in the area.
Warms Springs Inn & Winery is a little piece of paradise, and it's an underrated winter destination.
Who needs holiday madness when you can have rest and rejuvenation?
