Tennessee Is Now Home To Its Very Own Whiskey Trail And You’ll Want To Take It

Tennessee has been waiting a LONG time for their own whiskey trail - and the day has officially come. With 25 stops scattered across the entire state, this is an experience that all whiskey fans should experience, at least once. It would make for a great vacation, wouldn't you say? If you're from Tennessee, check out the official map we've included from the state below, and find a distillery near you. This is truly a historical time.

Tennessee's very own Whiskey Trail officially opened in June of 2017 with member distilleries all across the state. With distilleries from Memphis to Knoxville, there's sure to be one near wherever you may be in Tennessee.

The trail features 25 distilleries across the state including legends like Jack Daniel's and George Dickel as well as relative newcomers like Memphis's Old Dominick and Nashville's Corsair.

Fun history fact: Tennessee had very strict laws around the establishment of distilleries in the state until 2009. Before that date, there were only three (legal) operational distilleries in the state. Today, there are over 30, signaling a true Tennessee whiskey renaissance.

The Trail comes with its own mobile app, allowing customers to get distillery information and maps right on their phone. The app even includes a passport which you can use to check in at each distillery on the trail. Visiting them all wins you a free t-shirt!

Not sure where to start or how to even go about visiting all of these incredible distilleries? The Whiskey Trail's website offers a suggested 10-day itinerary that includes tips for visiting each distillery as well as recommended restaurants in each town along the trip.

Each distillery offers tours that take anywhere from 45 to 90 minutes. Each distillery has different tour options and prices, so it's best to check their individual websites or the information on the Tennessee Whiskey Trail website before visiting the distilleries.

Looking for a way to celebrate the momentous occasion that is the inauguration of the Whiskey Trail? Large celebrations are scheduled in Townsend, Tennessee for November 3-4, with another being held in Memphis in May of 2018. Keep an eye on the Whiskey Trail's website for more information!
