The Jack Daniel's Distillery is one of the most well-known manufacturers in the south, not just Tennessee. It's the Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 that's served around the world, and our whiskey is the kind that brings back sweet memories and all the nights that made us who we are. You can visit the distillery for yourself, but first, let's take a trip together.

This being the oldest registered distillery in America, you know ol' Jack has a story or two to tell. The distillery was registered in 1866 by a young - TEENAGE - Jack Daniel. He was a young entrepreneur, and his dream has since stretched across the nation. You can visit at 133 Lynchburg Highway in Lynchburg, roughly and hour and a half from Nashville.

His whiskey was given the official title of "Tennessee whiskey" in 1941, and it remains the best-selling whiskey in the US. While it was also produced for a short while in both Alabama and Missouri, none of that product was ever sold. Thus, all Jack Daniel's whiskey in history has come from this one location.

Did you know that Frank Sinatra was a big fan of Jack Daniel's whiskey? It's true. He was even buried with a bottle of it upon his death. The distillery even rolled out the Sinatra Special brand in his honor.

Jack Daniel may have been one of the youngest and most successful entrepreneurs in Tennessee, but his name didn't reflect that on his birth certificate. Yes, our good friend Jack was actually named Jasper Newton Daniel. It just doesn't have the same ring...and we're glad he went with his childhood nickname for his adult activities, wouldn't you say?

One of the quirkiest facts about the distillery is its location in a dry county. After Prohibition, Moore County stayed dry but it was Jack's nephew who became state senator and allowed for "decorative" bottles of whiskey to be sold in the gift shop - crazy.
