This list is more of a St. Louis Day planner, for anyone visiting our city, or if you want to plan a St. Louis stay-cation day in your own hometown. You will find the best of our not-to-be-missed downtown locations and our one of a kinds foods on this best St. Louis Day ever list.
1. Have a Slinger for breakfast at the Eat Rite-Diner.
A Slinger is hamburger, chili, fried eggs, and onions layered together for one dish of incredible St. Louis food. If you have never had one before, this may not be the best choice to start a long, fun day! Order one for the table and just try a bite instead! 2. Spend a few hours at the Soulard Farmer's Market.
One of the oldest and largest farmer's markets in the country, you could easily spend a whole day here. This is an excellent place to grab a square of Gooey Butter Cake too. Soulard is also one of the oldest neighborhoods in St. Louis, giving you chance to see the wonderful old craftsmanship of the buildings and architecture of the area. 3. Rest up a bit over a cup of coffee at the Soulard Coffee Garden.
Housed in a former home in Soulard, this charming coffee house and restaurant serves great coffee (and good eats) and will give you an inside view of the old time living spaces of Soulard. 4. Take a ride to the top of the Gateway Arch.
No trip to St. Louis would be complete without seeing the Gateway Arch up close! You can ride to the top again, and tickets can be purchased at the Old Court House a few blocks away. The Old Court is located at: 11 N 4th Street, St. Louis, MO 63102
5. See the Mighty Mississippi River and the Eads Bridge.
A short trip from the Arch will show you two marvels, the man-made Eads Bridge and the natural wonder of the Mississippi River. You can view the river from the Arch grounds but you won't want to miss seeing this one of a kind bridge!
6. Have lunch way up high at Three Sixty.
At the very top of the Hilton St. Louis is Three Sixty restaurant and bar. Lunch here will give you a birdseye view of Downtown St. Louis and Busch Stadium.Three Sixty is located at: 1 South Broadway, St. Louis, MO 63102
7. Spend a few hours at the City Museum.
This is another St. Louis attraction built for all day fun, but you can't have a St. Louis Day, without stopping in here. Quite possibly the coolest and most unusual hands-on attraction in the world; the City Museum has tunnels, mazes, saved St. Louis architecture, and so many other amazing things. You won't believe until you see it for yourself. The City Museum is located at: 750 N 16th Street, St. Louis, MO 63103.
8. Rally for the hometown team at a Blues Hockey game.
A Blues hockey game is always an adrenaline rush and feels like a huge party! And watching the St. Louis Blues play hockey is a great way to wind down a full St. Louis day. Scottrade Center is located at: 1401 Clark Ave., St. Louis, MO 63103.
9. Have drinks and a late dinner in the Grand Hall of Union Station.
A perfect penultimate attraction to a St. Louis Day, the Grand Hall is a beautiful space. The Grand Hall features a one-of-a-kind light show, drinks, and a full menu. 10. Take a horse and carriage ride to end the day.
