Long Shoals Wayside Park in Sunset has long been the favorite swimming hole for locals. It features a natural waterslide you can hit sans innertube, or bring that tube and you can also float in the large pool at the bottom. Located right on the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Byway, this park is a hidden gem.

5. Hit the trail to two stunning waterfalls.
Hike through a gorgeous nature preserve to make your way to two 75-foot waterfalls located in the same spot. One drops over a ledge and the other cascades down a rock formation. The hike is short and the view is amazing.
