16 Things You Better Have To Survive In South Carolina

Is South Carolina a destination in your near future? Moving or visiting; there is a list of things you want to pack or buy immediately when you get here!

1. Sunscreen!

It's a must here. In the summer it can feel like you are living on the sun.

2. Deodorant/ Antiperspirant

The humidity here is enough to drown you in sweat and this is going to become your best friend and you're going to hope it's everyone else's best friend too.

3. Anti-frizz Hair Products

Of course, this only applies to those who tend to have frizz because on a humid summer day it is going to be more than you can possibly handle without a product to tame it.

4. Bug Repellant (or more specifically, mosquito and tick repellant)

The mosquitos here are so bad they will carry you off given the chance and the ticks are so bad at times that you will wonder where they ever came from in the first place.

5. Flip Flops

Because it's too hot to wear shoes of any other sort.

6. Shorts And Tons Of Them

Dress shorts, casual shorts, beach shorts... you get the idea.

7. Air Conditioner!

There is no way you can get through the summer without one. Well, it may be possible, but I don't advise it.

8. Water

You're going to want this and lots of it. Water to drink, water to submerge yourself in, water to splash over yourself. It doesn't matter what kind it is, trust me you're going to need it.

9. Grit And Determination

You need this to get through the summer and the erratic season of winter, as well as, the occasional hurricane and tornado.

10. Sunglasses

They're a must, otherwise it feels like your eyeballs will fry and no one wants that!

11. A Sense Of Adventure

It's an absolute must because there will come a time when you will have visitors on your front or back door steps...

12. A Car Or Vehicle Of Some Sort

Have you ever tried to ride a bike in 120-degree heat?

13. A Grill

When it's hot outside the last thing you want to do is make it hot on the inside too. Best to just pull out the grill and cook a feast!

14. A Sense Of Humor

Due to towering tempers when it's hot out you're going to need to learn to laugh it off.

15. A Fearless Attitude

You might find yourself face to face with one of these or a cockroach. Me? I would rather fight the snake.

16. A Shotgun Or Hoe...or both!

These are so you can take care of the snake...or the cockroach.

17. A Basic Knowledge Of South Carolina Plants

Some of them are not too friendly and don't play well with others.

18. Calamine Lotion

Just in case you got ahold of one of those plants that doesn't play well with others. Told you that you needed a basic knowledge of these things!
