Rhode Island has an undoubtedly unique culture. From big blue bugs to coffee syrup; there are just so many ways this rings true. The state is so unique that you can even spot a Rhode Islander out of state in a few simple ways. Here are 7 habits that are definitely scream raised in Rhode Island.
1. They'll order their ice cream with "jimmies," instead of "sprinkles."
Rhode Island has some pretty amazing local ice cream shops that are so worth visiting.
2. You'll hear Rhode Islanders giving directions based strictly on the location of former businesses and Dunkin' Donuts.
"Take a left at the dunkin and drive all da way past the old Almacs."
3. They'll ask where the "bubblah" when they're thirsty.
A drinking fountain is strictly known as a bubbler in the state.
4. You'll notice that Rhode Islanders get pretty antsy in any drive lasting more than 15 minutes.
It's basically a road trip at this point.
5. All Rhode Islanders will need to periodically sit beside the ocean, or some large body of water to feel content.
If you grew up in the Ocean State, you'll understand this one.
6. The people of the Ocean State have incredibly high seafood standards.
They simply won't eat anything less than the best.
7. You'll notice that harsh weather isn't anything a Rhode Islander can't handle.
