These 7 Rhode Island Towns Might Be Tiny But Their Restaurants Are Fantastic
When it comes to the restaurant scene in Rhode Island, sometimes it seems like Providence gets all the love. But sometimes it's good to get out of the city and have a meal somewhere a little more intimate - and these towns do the trick. These towns are far from urban, but each one has absolutely amazing restaurants.
1. Exeter
Exeter's is a charming town full of gorgeous farmland, and its residents enjoy amazing dining options at the Celestial Cafe with its internationally inspired cuisine, the Homestead Restaurant with its perfect comfort food, and the Middle of Nowhere Diner with its perfect breakfasts.
2. Charlestown
From the epic buffet at the Nordic Lodge to great pub food at the Charlestown Rathskeller, not to mention several excellent pizza shops, there are plenty of places to eat up in Charlestown.
3. Little Compton
From amazing steaks and seafood at Crowther's to epic breakfasts at The Barn, Little Compton has plenty of options for not-so-litlte meals. Be sure to grab a slice from A-1 Pizza as well!
4. Richmond
From the ever-so-popular Fresh Ground Garden Cafe that dishes up hearty sandwiches to Boucher's Wood River Inn only a couple miles away, historic Richmond dishes up some delectable choices.
5. Warren
Warren is a gorgeous town, and it has several delightful restaurants that are perfect for date nights, including Eli's Kitchen, Metacom, and The Revival Craft Kitchen and Bar. Blount's Clam Shack is an unmissable classic, too!
6. West Greenwich
For a small, woodsy town, West Greenwich has a surprising array of pizza spots to choose from. If you want more than just pizza though, head to Dan's Pizza Place - despite the name this spot has a massive and diverse menu.
7. New Shoreham
Since New Shoreham (on Block Island) is a vacation town, it's perhaps not surprising that there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. But you might be surprised by just how good, and varied, the food is. Kimberly's, Mohegan Cafe, and Winfield's are just a few of the standouts.
