Rhode Island might just be a tiny speck compared to bigger states like Texas, but it is filled with wonderful things.

2. It's even half the size of the next smallest state (Delaware) and 15% of our official square mileage consists of water.

At least the coast is stunning. Worth it.

3. The great Ocean State is the second most densely populated state in the nation.

It's second only to New Jersey.

Though some other states also hesitated, in the end Little Rhody was the only state to shake their heads at prohibition.

This happened on May 4, 1776.
