The Small Town In Pennsylvania That Transforms Into A Magical Harry Potter Wonderland

Calling all Harry Potter fans! Get ready for an epic weekend celebrating the wonderful world of wizardry. That's right. The charming town of Waynesboro is set to transform into a magical Harry Potter wonderland for two glorious, action-packed days in August. Are you ready?

Enter the magical world of Harry Potter at the inaugural Waynesboro Harry Potter Festival, slated for August 18 and 19, 2017.

Festivities kick off on Friday, August 18, at 5:30 p.m. with live Celtic music while Saturday's activities begin at 9 a.m. and run until 8 p.m.

The action-packed weekend will feature a slew of activities, including free Kidditch lessons, story times, a magic show, a book signing, scavenger hunts, and showings of the original Harry Potter film series.

Dress up as your favorite Harry Potter character and enter the costume contest. Fans age 16 and older can show off their costumes at the Magic Wizard's Party at Christine's Cafe on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Fans 14 and younger can display their Harry Potter costumes during Saturday's costume contest at Main Street Park between 3 and 4 p.m. Of course, fans with the best costumes will win prizes.

Join one of three Potter Paint parties planned for the two day festival. Guests will create a magical Harry Potter-themed painting under the guidance of an instructor. Advanced tickets are available.

Catch a showing of Fantastic Beasts Friday evening at 9:45 p.m. at the Waynesboro Theatre.
