Head To This Small Town Oklahoma Restaurant For The Most Epic Barbecue In The State

We recently took a poll and asked our readers on Instagram where their favorite place was to get bbq in the Sooner State. Of course, we had lots of opinions, but one place that got multiple votes was JL's Barbecue in Pryor. They have been serving mouthwatering barbecue since 1976 to Green Country and beyond. Check them out for some of the most epic barbecue in the state.

JL's Barbecue is a casual dining restaurant located just off South Highway 69 at 5501 South Mill Street in Pryor.

They are open Monday - Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and closed on Sundays. If you visit during rush hour, expect a wait because it's one of the best places to go for bbq in Green Country.

It is a cafeteria-style setting that is known for their heaping serving sizes , fall-off-the-bone meat and tasty bbq sauces.

The food at JL's is what keeps patrons coming back year after year. The hickory-smoked meats are amazing and full of flavor. Sides include baked beans, onion rings, fries, wedges, corn on the cob and Texas toast.

They are known for piling on the food. So, if it's large portions you're looking for, JL's is your place. They have sandwiches, combos, extra large combos and meat by the pound.

There is a self-serve station that has all your hot and mild sauces, pickles, onions, ketchup, and jalapeno peppers, along with all your drinks.

After getting your food, head to the dining room and eat your heart out. The restaurant is decorated with vintage oil and farm signs and the laid-back atmosphere makes for an enjoyable meal.

Sure, the meat is amazing, but don't forget about the bbq chicken that is seasoned to perfection.

The full menu includes ribs, beef, pork, Polish, little smokies, bologna, hotlinks, chicken, chicken fried steak, sandwiches and sides.
