The Day Trip Of A Lifetime You Can Only Take In Oklahoma
There's no shortage of incredible trips to take within the Sooner State - especially mini-trips - where you can spend the day and be back home by nighttime. Oklahoma City is a great place to go for a day trip, because it's centrally located and chock-full of things to do. It would take a lot longer than one day to see everything OKC has to offer, so we narrowed down this day trip to Riversport Adventures along the Oklahoma River. Check out this day trip of a lifetime you can only take in Oklahoma.
Riversport Adventure Park in the Boathouse District is located at 800 Riversport Drive, Oklahoma City, OK. It's one of the top places to go in the state to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities.
There's lots of ways to get on the water at Riversport. For starters, try out Dragon Boating - the world's fasting growing water sport.
Or experience Class II-IV whitewater rafting at the man-made whitewater and kayaking facility - one of only a few facilities of its kind in the world.
And on select days, you can go tubing or river boarding on the rapids. It's the ultimate place to stay cool during the hot, summer months.
Don't worry about leaving for food. Big Water Grill is a fast, casual restaurant serving everything from sandwiches to salads to snacks. Grab your food and sit outside overlooking the gorgeous river.
After catching a bite to eat, head over to the SandRidge Sky Trail -
the tallest adventure course of its kind in the world. This playground in the sky reaches 80 ft. tall, and includes fun challenges over rope bridges, balance beams, zig-zag elements and more.
From the top you can slide down the 72 ft. high-speed slide or hop on the zip line and soar across the Oklahoma River. Of course, you can always walk back down the stairs if those options sound too exhilarating.
Another activity you won't want to miss is a river boat cruise on the Oklahoma River. You can board right there at the Regatta Landing in the heart of the Boathouse District and take it all the way to Bricktown.
There's also three world-class mountain bike/BMX courses for those looking to ride the tracks. Even if you don't ride, it's fun to watch!
If you have time before heading back home, catch a movie out on the water on select nights during the summer.
Another fun adventure in Oklahoma City is the Hearltand Flyer Train. Check it out here.
