Beginning on Black Friday, Nov. 25, the historic courthouse plaza accommodates the lighting of the town’s impressive 30-foot Christmas tree to the accompaniment of festive, live music.

See Santa flip the switch setting the lights on fire.

Take a ride that night in a horse-drawn carriage along Main Street.

Nothing is prettier than this charming Christmas town twinkling in the night.

Return to the square to see Santa again on Friday, Dec. 2, as part of the Old-Fashioned Christmas celebration hosted by downtown merchants. And if you missed the carriage rides, here's another chance.

Other events include the Holiday Tour of Inns & Cookie Caper, the 16th annual Gingerbread Cookie Contest at Narnia Studios, the Peppermint Bear Scavenger Hunt, and a holiday performance by the Carolina Concert Choir.
