The Tiny Town In North Carolina With 300 Lighted Trees Is A Holiday Dream Come True
McAdenville, known as Christmas Town U.S.A., offers a spectacular holiday light display with nearly 300 decorated trees and 160 homes, attracting visitors for over six decades.
Christmas Town U.S.A. is located right here in North Carolina and you'll want to make this the year to go check it out! Tiny little McAdenville (population: under 700 residents) has been making holidays brighter as Christmas Town U.S.A. since 1956! And while light styles and holiday decor may have changed over the last 63 years, the overabundance of holiday cheer has continued to flourish and grow in this tiny town in the Tar Heel State.
Their official count this year puts the number of outdoor trees decorated with red, white, and/or green lights at just under 300! Wow.
And if that's not enough, there are 200 wreaths and 160 beautifully decorated homes.
Further... viewing this perfect little Christmas town won't cost you a cent. The McAdenvillians put on this holiday show each and every year to spread the cheer and the joys of the season.
With 160 homes, and 1.5 square miles to cover, the best way to see it all is on foot. Ample sidewalks throughout the town make it easy to stroll along and enjoy each and every moment. (Don't be surprised if you feel as if you're walking through a perfect Christmas town in a Hallmark movie.)
Walking also affords the best possibilities to get the best version of your keepsake photos.
And to walk through the 37 beautifully lighted spruce trees that encircle the town's small lake.
However, many people do elect to drive as opposed to walk. The cars generally move at a slow place and you definitely won't feel rushed. (One estimate puts the number of cars that drive through the lights each year at 200,000!)
Generations of North Carolina families have journeyed to McAdenville over the past six decades to continue a family tradition of sharing this joyous season with others.
