The Twinkliest Town In New York Will Make Your Holiday Season Merry And Bright
White Plains' North Kensico Avenue hosts a spectacular Christmas light show with over 10,000 lights and festive activities.
It seems as though us New Yorkers went from feeling like winter and the holiday season was still ages away, only now to feel like we have so much to do and experience before 2019 arrives. Every town around New York has some sort of holiday decorations hanging up for all to see, but there's one destination in the Empire State that twinkles a bit more brightly than all the rest - check it out.
Twinkling bright for everyone to see all throughout the year, White Plains turns into quite the festive town during the holidays.
Earning nicknames like Snow White Plains, since 2005 North Kensico Avenue has become a famous little avenue of holiday houses.
Put together by just a couple of neighbors who enjoy creating something for other New Yorkers to experience, you'll feel like you're staring at a group of real-life gingerbread houses when you come over to White Plains' North Kensico Avenue.
The North Kensico Christmas Light Show has been happening since 2005, with no plan for the show to stop anytime soon.
Each year the neighbors on North Kensico do their best to expand the show and give visitors something new to look forward to.
And if you're wondering just how many lights make this area of town so twinkly, you can expect to see over 10,000 on display here.
For the last 10 years, the light show has been computer-controlled.
If you drive to North Kensico Avenue, you can tune your radio into 107.7 FM, allowing you to listen to the music that the lights are playing to.
Visitors are also encouraged to step out of their cars and walk around, with a small motion-activated speaker located in the mailbox so that you can still hear the music.
This year one of the many reasons to get out of your car is to go and take your picture with Santa who's waiting for you in the backyards of North Kensico Avenue.
Up and on display from now until January 2nd at 21 North Kensico Avenue in White Plains, experience why this area has become known as our state's most twinkly town.
Running from now through January 2nd, the North Kensico Avenue Christmas Light Show is on display each day of the week from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. To find out more about the light show, click here.
