Heading into the the Adirondacks, one amazing little treasure is the town of Inlet. The population? Under 400 people. The charm? Out of this world. The town of Inlet was developed to cater to the sportsmen of the area, and has been a major center for Adirondack tourism for over a century. It is surrounded by over a million acres of land, all within the Adirondack Park.
Start your day off in Inlet right with a trip to Mary’s White Pine Bakery. They serve up house-made donuts, frycakes, pastries and more. They are open from May into October.

After filling up with coffee and treats, visitors should make their way to the Cascade Lake Loop and Trails for an amazing hike. It even has a waterfall! The entire loop will run six miles, but hikers can also do a shorter out-and-back trail.
For lunch, stop by Tamarack Cafe. They serve great lunches until 3 p.m. in the summer, or 2 p.m. during the rest of the year. Don’t forget to try some of their house-made Tamarack sap hot sauce on your meal. The cafe recommends it on home fries, eggs, french fries and wraps.
