This tiny town south of Buffalo is out to prove that not all paranormal encounters have to be scary. Take a look at the small haunted town of Lily Dale, located just an hour south of the city.
Lily Dale is the center of the spiritualist movement, located near the town of Cassadaga - about an hour from Buffalo.
The Lily Dale Assembly is a popular camp and meeting spot for spiritualists and those interested in life after death.
"No one dies in Lily Dale." Each year, thousands of people make a pilgrimage to the haunted town to summon the spirits of loved ones.
What to expect when you visit? That's really up to you! You can come for a day or stay for a week at one of the town's two hotels. Just don't be too surprised if you hear any paranormal activity in the night!
While the town is open year-round, most of what Lily Dale is famous for is held during the summer season from late June through early September.
Lily Dale's summer events feature workshops on spiritualism and mediumship, special events, and over 50 registered mediums available for individual and public readings.
The town has a church, 160 residences, two hotels, bookstores, a cafe, an eatery, and campgrounds - as well as a Healing Temple where visitors can go for meditation.
While it might seem a bit creepy, those who visit Lily Dale often refer to the haunted town as a calming, peaceful place.
