This Epic Skywalk Is Totally Worthy Of A Road Trip From Buffalo

Buffalo is located within driving distance to so many amazing places. Niagara Falls is under an hour away, Finger Lakes is an easily drivable day trip, and this gem is totally road trip worthy at just two hours away away. The next time you're planning a mini getaway from the 716, consider adding this epic skywalk to your list!

Kinzua Bridge State Park is located in McKean County in Pennsylvania, just under a two hour drive from the City of Buffalo.

The park consists of 399 acres with several trails and – its main attraction – the Kinzua Bridge.

The skywalk at Kinzua Bridge State Park is unbelievable. Walk the bridge and get great views of the Kinzua Valley below.

Kinzua Bridge was once 2,053 feet long and 301 feet high and operated as a functioning railroad until 2003.

This structure was once the tallest and longest railroad structure, but the Skywalk itself was reconstructed in 2011 as a walkway.

A tornado struck the bridge in 2003, resulting in irreparable damage to the railroad tracks.

After the damage, the structure was reinvented to become what it is today - a popular tourist destination in McKean County, PA.

The Skywalk is a popular spot to take photos, and it's not hard to see why!

Landscape and nature photographers flock to this location for stunning shots of fall foliage, the Kinzua Valley, and the bridge itself.

You can still enjoy the park even if you have a fear of heights!

If standing on top of tall structures isn't your thing, you can still enjoy the beauty of Kinzua Bridge State Park. The valley walkways give an up close and personal view of the structure of the bridge. There are also some great photo taking opportunities from below!
