Every year, in the small town of Adams, New York, the community gathers to celebrate all things cheddar cheese. They call it a village wide celebration of the agriculture and cheese making industry in Jefferson County. We call it a really great time. The Cheddar Cheese Festival happens this year on Saturday August 5th.

There is plenty to do at the festival. There will be artisan vendors, a wine garden, food vendors, live music and a whole lot more.

There’s a kid zone, too. It features games, free ice pops, a petting zoo, pony rides, a magician and a balloon man.

One of the main sponsors of the festival is Adams Reserve, who are the maker of award winning New York cheddar and are located in town. You better believe there will be plenty of tasty cheddar to be consumed at this event.

The town of Adams is located in the northern part of the state and has a population just above 5,000. It also contains a village with the same name. The town is named after President John Adams and dates back to 18000.
