This Dreamy Road Trip Will Take You To The Best Fall Foliage In All Of New Hampshire

Peak foliage in New Hampshire won't arrive until mid-October, but it's never to early to plan the perfect places to view the changing colors. This road trip will take you to some of the best views in the state - just watch out for your leef-peeping competition.

Our journey starts way up north, and takes us all the way down to the Massachusetts border.

1. Franconia Notch State Park

We'll begin in Franconia Notch State Park, where the contrast of low lying clouds over the mountains and vibrant foliage will astound you.

2. Kancamagus Highway

From there, it's an easy trip to Lincoln - and of course, you couldn't possibly take a foliage road trip in the Granite State without including the Kancamagus Highway (or Kanc). The eastern section of NH-112, this scenic highway from Lincoln to Conway winds through the White Mountains and has absolutely spectacular views, especially in the fall.

The views from the Kanc are so good that you'll find yourself pulling over constantly to take it all in.

3. Castle in the Clouds, Moltonborough

Yes, you have to pay admission to Castle in the Clouds, but you won't regret it - the views from this magnificent estate are unbeatable.

4. Henniker Bridge

There's nothing more New England than a covered bridge - and if it's surrounded by fall foliage all the better. The Henniker Bridge will make a perfect photo op!

5. Mount Monadnock

One of the most-climbed mountains in the world, this hike will lead you to some incredible views, while giving you a great workout!

6. Lake Winnipesaukee

New Hampshire's largest lake is incredible all year round - but there's something just plain magical about seeing the leaves turn against the background of the lake.
