Alright folks, here is the full road trip! We will be trekking from one side of Nashville's downtown to the next, with plenty of stops to eat and explore along the way. Grab your kids, jump in the car, and get ready for a day full of adventure.
1. The Pfunky Griddle
Every road trip needs the proper fuel, and the Pfunky Griddle in Berry Hill is the perfect place to begin the day. The local café has a griddle at every table so you and your party can cook your own pancakes with a large selection of toppings and add-ons. 2. Nashville Children's Theater
Book a ticket at the Nashville Children’s Theatre for a neat theatrical experience just outside the city’s downtown loop. The theatre has been operating since 1931, and the professional productions make for a magical experience for kids and adults alike. 3. Tennessee State Museum
Next up is the Tennessee State Museum! This Nashville museum outlines the entirety of Tennessee’s history as a US state, and it is located in a brand new location just at the foot of Capitol Hill. 4. Elliston Place Soda Shop
If you get hungry then a stop at Elliston Place Soda Shop is in order. The beautifully renovated space has been open to the public since 1939 and boasts classic meat-and-three meals and soda shop specials like milkshakes and malts. Come for a burger and fries, or maybe just sit at the dining counter and enjoy a slice of freshly baked pie. What an incredible place to eat!
5. Double Dogs
If the kids are a little squirrelly and aren’t looking for a mid-century experience at the soda shop, then head on over to Double Dogs. With two locations in Nashville, the hot dog-centric eatery is perfect for kids and adults alike. Peek the menu here.
6. Adventure Science Center
We’re finishing up our road trip at Nashville’s Adventure Science Center where kids can get their hands on scientific experiences of their own. The non-profit science museum has over 175 hands-on interactive exhibits from biology experiments to air and space experiences. It’s a mind-blowing adventure for the entire family and is open beginning at 10 a.m. every day of the week except Tuesdays and Wednesdays when the center is closed. Don’t forget to book your ticket!
