Nashville is known as one of the most fantastic cities in the United States. We're made up of good country folk and dreamers, musicians and business people bent on making the world a better place. In a city of such change and dynamic, you need a bit of an adventure every once in awhile - don't you think? Here are fifteen things to do, either in the city on a small scale or a bit bigger across the board, that will make your day-to-day a bit more exciting.
1. Take a minute to explore nature with our waterfall guide.

2. Enjoy breakfast at this darling, secluded country restaurant.
Sweet Marcy Jo's is one of the best spots in Tennessee, and it's located not too far from Nashville. Plus, the family that owns it are the kindest folk you'll ever meet. Care for some biscuits and gravy?
3. Make your way to the Tomato Art Fest.
The Tomato Art Fest in East Nashville is one of the most popular festivals in the city, and you can learn all about it. If you're a runner? Even better! You can take part in their annual Tomato 5K!
4. Follow our most magnificent hot chicken trail...if you dare.
If you're looking to burn your mouth a bit (ha. a lot.) and want to enjoy a taste of crispy poultry from one side of the city to the other, we've found every place on the menu.
Check out Mike's Ice Cream in downtown Nashville if you're looking for a way to cool off on those hot and humid weekends. We'd recommend pairing it with a walk across the Pedestrian Bridge, holding hands with your date. Best kind of Saturday!
6. Follow our fabulous pizza trail through the city.
Pizza is probably the best kind of food out there. Can we call it a food group...? You know we'd like to, but somehow all those nutritionists won't listen to us. Oh well. Follow our pizza trail through the heart of the city to find your favorite slice of pizza pie.
7. Visit one of our cornerstone restaurants - it's been around for ages!
The Elliston Soda Shop has been serving Nashville killer diner fare since the 1930s, and we're big fans of their milkshakes and all-day brunch. There's nothing like a pancake or a thick, creamy malted. It's truly a blast from the past!
8. Visit the one-of-a-kind store you can only find in Nashville.
The Idea Hatchery in Nashville is a neat shopping locale that keeps shops full of local goods for purchase. You can wander through the vintage shops or the bookstore, even stock up on supplies at their locally owned bead store. So fun!
9. Visit this village just outside the city that's out of a fairy tale.
Leipers Fork is home to the original Puckett's and one of the best places in the rural countryside for artists and their galleries. Pitch up for dinner for a live show and maybe look at staying at a Bed and Breakfast. It's the best mini-vacation idea.
10. There's no attraction in the world like this one in Centennial Park. Oh - wait.
Okay, well. The Parthenon in Centennial Park was modeled after the famous original in Athens, Greece. It attracts thousands of visitors a year and has come to represent the most beautiful, "Athens of the South."
11. You'll never believe you can visit this heartbreaking place...
The story of what happened at Dutchman's Curve in Nashville is one of the most eerie and haunting stories in our city history. You should take a look, and learn the whole of it. You may just have trouble sleeping tonight...
12. Visit the most unique hotel in Nashville - and maybe even spend the night??
The Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the city and boasts and high class restaurant and even prettier rooms. This is where you go if you're looking to travel first class.
13. Take a walk around this beautiful fantasy land - you won't believe it's right in the middle of the city!
The Scarritt Bennett Center is located in the heart of Nashville and may have the most beautiful campus in town. You can stay here if you're looking for a step back in time, or you can simply play a game of frisbee on the grass.
14. Visit the most amazing chocolate factory in the south!
Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Factory is located in East Nashville and is a family-owned, confectionery masterpiece. Take the tour and try a couple of samples before stocking up for the drive home. It's the kind of experience to enjoy again and again.
15. Care for a day trip to the top of the world?
Take in the sights at Lookout Mountain, shared between Tennessee and Georgia. It's one of the best places to visit with out-of-towners, and perfect for even a local. Get ready to take in some of the most breathtaking views in the south.
