The Elliston Soda Shop has been serving Nashville killer diner fare since the 1930s, and we're big fans of their milkshakes and all-day brunch. There's nothing like a pancake or a thick, creamy malted. It's truly a blast from the past!

8. Visit the one-of-a-kind store you can only find in Nashville.

The Idea Hatchery in Nashville is a neat shopping locale that keeps shops full of local goods for purchase. You can wander through the vintage shops or the bookstore, even stock up on supplies at their locally owned bead store. So fun!

9. Visit this village just outside the city that's out of a fairy tale.

Leipers Fork is home to the original Puckett's and one of the best places in the rural countryside for artists and their galleries. Pitch up for dinner for a live show and maybe look at staying at a Bed and Breakfast. It's the best mini-vacation idea.

10. There's no attraction in the world like this one in Centennial Park. Oh - wait.

Okay, well. The Parthenon in Centennial Park was modeled after the famous original in Athens, Greece. It attracts thousands of visitors a year and has come to represent the most beautiful, "Athens of the South."

The Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville is one of the most beautiful places to visit in the city and boasts and high class restaurant and even prettier rooms. This is where you go if you're looking to travel first class.

The Scarritt Bennett Center is located in the heart of Nashville and may have the most beautiful campus in town. You can stay here if you're looking for a step back in time, or you can simply play a game of frisbee on the grass.

14. Visit the most amazing chocolate factory in the south!

Olive & Sinclair Chocolate Factory is located in East Nashville and is a family-owned, confectionery masterpiece. Take the tour and try a couple of samples before stocking up for the drive home. It's the kind of experience to enjoy again and again.

15. Care for a day trip to the top of the world?

Take in the sights at Lookout Mountain, shared between Tennessee and Georgia. It's one of the best places to visit with out-of-towners, and perfect for even a local. Get ready to take in some of the most breathtaking views in the south.
