A drive along Blue Buck Knob National Forest Scenic Byway won't take all day - unless you want to make a day of it. Plan to spend at least a few hours on the road, more if you want to make stops along the way.

The picturesque 24-mile scenic byway winds through Mark Twain National Forest, so you know you'll be treated to stellar views throughout.

If you're driving on a lovely Missouri day, roll down the windows to let the breeze blow in. You'll pass a variety of scenery - towering trees, pastures, and rolling farmland.

You might want to pack a picnic for a stop at one of the overlooks. The Noblett Lake Recreation Area, for example, sits along the scenic byway.

Grab one of the picnic tables that overlooks the lake. If you have the time, you might want to go canoeing or kayaking.

Shaded by lush trees, the picnic area offers plenty of place to spread out and to relax before continuing your drive.
