Winona, Minnesota, offers a variety of fall activities, scenic views, and local events, making it a perfect autumn destination.

There's a lot to do in Minnesota in the fall. So much, in fact, that it can feel like you have no time to squeeze it all in. Luckily, there's a town in Minnesota where you can find your favorite fall activities all in one place. Take a look:

Winona is one of Minnesota's most charming towns all year long, but it is especially lovely in the fall.

There's a lot to do during the fall season. The charming downtown offers lots of local shopping and restaurants. It's the perfect place to take a walk as the weather starts to cool.

In the rolling hills of southeastern Minnesota, with the Mississippi River flowing to the east, Winona is only made more beautiful when the leaves start to change. The hills turn spectacular red and gold.

Winona's local parks offer vivid views from above and below. If you stay below, you can also take a colorful riverboat tour along the Mississippi.

A quiet walk along the river may be just the thing soak in the last bits of sunshine for the year.

For a more rugged walk, try hiking any of the bluffs that surround Winona. Many have unpaved trails leading up them.

Garvin Heights Park is great for seeing Winona from above. It's well worth it if you can handle the stairs.

If you're not into self-powered transportation, consider taking a trolley tour of Winona. This experience is as historic as it is beautiful.

And don't forget to join in on Winona's fall festivities. The Polish Apple Fest, Smaczne Jablka, is a great seasonal activity held in October.
