The Quiet Fishing Town In Maryland That Seems Frozen In Time
Deal Island in Maryland is a serene, unspoiled fishing town with beautiful wetlands, sandy beaches, and stunning sunrises and sunsets.
With miles and miles of coastline, a quiet fishing town in Maryland isn't hard to come by. While most have become a bit modernized through the years, Deal Island is one of the few fishing towns left that remains unspoiled. This serene area almost seems to be frozen in time, and we wouldn't have it any other way. It's one of the loveliest small towns in Maryland.
With a population of around 600 residents, Deal Island, Maryland is a quiet community mostly consisting of fishermen and people who love the water.
With blue crabs being the treasure of the bay, you'll often find crab docks scattered around the perimeter of the island.
While fishing is abundant here, this little slice of paradise offers so much more.
In some spots, wetlands stretch as far as the eye can see. It's a glorious sight and a type of terrain that not many get to witness.
The coast offers sandy beaches, perfect for collecting driftwood.
And as with all islands on the bay, the sunrises and sunsets are phenomenal.
Deal Island is special because it remains simple and untouched by the tourism industry.
And we hope it stays that way for the rest of its days.
