The Remote Winery In Maine That’s Picture Perfect For A Day Trip

Cellardoor Winery in Lincolnville, Maine, offers beautiful vineyards, local wines, and a rich history.

No sunset is as beautiful as a Maine sunset and no sunset is complete without a wonderful glass of wine. In Maine, we love to buy local, so why not make that glass of wine a Maine-made perfection! This spring, head to this wonderful local winery to enjoy what many people forget that Vacationland offers - vineyards!

And Cellardoor even has a wonderful story! A hobo came to the area in the early 20th century hoping to find work as well as a safe place to live. He carved the symbol that adorns their farmhouse door. The mark signaled to other travelers that the 200-year old farm was a safe, welcoming place.

Cellardoor Winery, located in Lincolnville, is not exactly remote.

But, as one of the most beautiful places in Maine, we wanted to share it with you!

Its vineyards exist on 68 acres of land and include a 200-year-old post-and-beam barn.

Perhaps its beauty and charm come from the fact that it's only had a handful of owners over its 200-year existence.

While the vineyard includes the best grapes - Maine grown, of course!

Wines here are also made from grapes sourced from all over the world.

Cellardoor is made up of Mainers and that special Maine ingenuity always shines through.

They once used a spare boat part to make a broken press work while in the middle of a crush and just last year they did this - used their tour cart to run the fermentation tanks until a part arrived!

Cellardoor offers tastings in their beautiful barn.

And is also available for special events.

And once you've visited, if you love Cellardoor wine, you can join the Loyalty Program.

But, even if you simply make it a day-trip you'll love exploring the area and enjoying the outside grounds.
