The Creole Nature Trail in Louisiana offers a scenic 180-mile road trip through stunning landscapes, wildlife, and cultural experiences.
Time to gas up the car and hit the road, because this scenic road is one of Louisiana’s hidden gems and it will take you through some of the Bayou State's most beautiful scenery.
The Creole Nature Trail is one of 43 scenic byways designated as an All-American Road in the United States.
Running through the "Louisiana’s Outback", this 180-mile road trip will carry you through some truly stunning scenery.
Start your epic road trip at Adventure Point.
This free attraction will give you a taste of what you’re in store for. Through hands-on displays, you’ll learn about Louisiana’s unique Cajun culture, our wildlife, music, food, and more. Adventure Point is located at 2740 Ruth St., Sulphur, LA 70665.
The most popular portion of the trail is the main loop from Sulphur to the Gulf of Mexico and then back up to Lake Charles. This will take you about five hours, depending on how often you stop along the way.
And you'll definitely want to stop a few times to snap some photos.
From beaches to bayous, you’ll encounter some of Louisiana’s most breathtaking natural landscape.
There are 26 miles of natural beaches along the coast that make for the perfect pit-stop to get some fresh air and search for some seashells.
You’ll also have the opportunity to spot countless wildlife along the way. Not only is this road trip a bird watchers dream come true, but more than 15,000 alligators live in the wetlands along the trail, so keep your eyes peeled for these beautiful beasts.
