The Breathtaking Scenic Drive Through Kansas That Runs Through The State’s Agricultural Region

Taking a scenic drive through Kansas is the perfect way to enjoy our rich scenery, and if you've been craving a getaway where you can enjoy the state's rich agricultural side, you'll love the byway we're featuring today. The Land And Sky Scenic Byway is an 88-mile journey that will take you through northwest Kansas, an area full of unique landscapes. You'll go all the way from the Nebraska state line down to the small city of Sharon Springs. Check it out:

The Land and Sky Scenic Byway is the only official scenic byway in Kansas designated to celebrate the state's agricultural roots.

Of course, you'll also see some great small towns along the way, like Goodland, population 4,300.

Fans of museums will also find plenty to enjoy along this route.

The Fort Wallace Museum in Wallace provides an excellent overview of area history.

The road also runs right past Mount Sunflower, the highest point in Kansas. While it's not a true mountain, it does have an elevation of 4,039 feet above sea level.

Another magnificent landmark along the route is the Arikaree Breaks.

This gorgeous area is made up of cliffs and canyons that almost resemble a miniature Grand Canyon.
