Christmas In These 9 Kansas Towns Looks Like Something From A Hallmark Movie
Kansas offers a variety of magical Christmas towns and events, from light displays to holiday markets and parades.
We can't get enough of traveling around our beautiful state, but during the winter, Christmas in these towns shine just a bit more than our beautiful landscapes. When you drive in and around these areas, you'll want to take photos, because they're just as beautiful as a Hallmark movie. You know that warm and cozy feeling you get when you see a holiday light display? These towns are full of it.
1. Galena's Cars on the Route
We all know and love these recognizable characters that make Galena their home, but during the holidays, it feels extra special when they're covered in lights.
2. Wichita's Old Cowtown Museum
Our beautiful Cowtown Museum always looks like a blast from the past, but during the holidays, their events include hot chocolate, old style caroling, and plenty of beautiful scenery.
3. Manhattan's Festival of Lights
Manhattan has a beautiful Christmas lights festival that starts things off right during the holiday season. Afterwards, the block is all a-glow with Christmas cheer.
4. Downtown Hays
Hays hosts an annual parade where people start showing that Christmas cheer, and whether you can make the parade or not, the town remains gorgeous and feels like you're coming home to a celebration, just like in a movie.
5. Pittsburg
Pittsburg also has a yearly Christmas parade, and if you're lucky enough to attend, you can start things off to a great start this season.
6. Lindsborg
Lindsborg celebrates Christmas, but a version called Jul (yule) that involves lighting a crown of candles, singing carols, and other festivities like parades and carriage rides. It might feel a little different, but it's Christmas even in Little Sweden.
7. Russell's Christmas Wonderland
Russell is an amazing town, and it somehow only gets better during the holidays. Their Christmas Wonderland is a treat, whether you just want to see lights or whether you want to shop for that someone special.
8. Wamego
Wamego, a gorgeous city in of itself, becomes a vision of beauty once it's all lit up with holiday lights. We especially love the windmill!
9. Salina's Flywheels Yesteryear Museum
We don't know if the museum is hosting their drive-through light show, but the Christmas festivities around this beautiful area of Salina always bring a warmth to your heart.
Of course, one Christmas City in Kansas stands out among the rest, and that award goes to Wakeeney. It's truly a beautiful sight to see, and well deserving of the "Christmas City of the High Plains"
