For others, like me, winter in Iowa is the perfect time to travel, especially to the small towns that come alive when it gets cold and begins to snow. One of those towns is Bellevue, Iowa, a small city of a little over 2,000 people with gorgeous river views and a rich cultural and culinary scene.

When you explore Bellevue, you will find beautiful natural sites and isolated byways that look stunningly peaceful in the winter. Along the way, you'll pass fields and farmhouses that look like they were taken directly from a painting. Don't forget to fill up your gas tank, if you're driving, and bring your camera before setting off on a winter ride through Iowa.
