This Haunting Road Trip Through Indiana Ghost Towns Is One You Won’t Forget

Indiana has a rich history of ghost towns with plenty to see and explore. Whether you're really into history, love abandoned buildings, or simply relish new photography opportunities, visiting ghost towns can be a pretty fun experience. We've shared some of the best ghost towns in the state, and now we're taking things a step further with this haunted road trip in Indiana! 1. Hindostan Falls

First up on our trip is Hindostan Falls, which was first settled in the 1800s along Indiana's White River. Yellow fever eventually wiped out this bustling town, rendering it completely desolate by the 1950s.

2. Elkinsville

Next up is the abandoned town of Elkinsville, which has been completely swallowed up by the Hoosier National Forest. But you can still find a few houses, a cemetery, and post office left from this tiny farming town. Browning Hill is one of the spookiest spots in Elkinsville; this peak is known as Indiana's Stonehenge, and the mood here in downright unsettling, even in broad daylight.

3. Elizabethtown

Once a part of Delaware County, Elizabethtown is one of the more beautiful ghost towns in the state. All that remains of this town is the eponymous Elizabethtown Cemetery.

4. Barbersville

Barbersville is next on our trip, and is pretty mysterious since nothing at all remains of this town. You'll find old locations along North Barbersville Road.

5. Granville

Our next stop is in Granville, a former town in Tippecanoe County. Native Americans inhabited this town in the early 1800s, and a cemetery with the town name on it can still be found here.

6. Corwin

Corwin is an awesome stop for taking some great photos and really investigating old buildings. The old grain elevators show that at one time, this abandoned town actually had promise.

7. Brisco

Brisco is next on our Indiana ghost towns trip, and is so utterly abandoned and forgotten about, it hardly even appears on maps anymore. Brisco is a pretty grim area, but worth a drive through.

8. Sloan

Our last stop is the downright eerie Indiana ghost town of Sloan. This extinct town used to be a thriving railroad community, but the population decreased over the years, and it was completely abandoned by the 1990s. Explore creepy houses and decaying buildings in this haunting place.
