This Epic 3-Day Restaurant Road Trip In Illinois Will Make Your Mouth Explode

Do you want to go on the most hedonistic road trip ever? We're guessing that once you do this road trip, you might not ever be able to attempt it again. We've created a massive 3 day restaurant road trip. Three cities. Nine awesome restaurants. Are you up for the challenge?

Here's the map:

Day 1: Chicago

1. Over Easy Cafe

This cozy cafe is serving up some of the most inventive breakfast food in Illinois. Try things like the Banana Spiked French Toast!

2. Spotted Monkey

This place is a Latin-Asian hybrid that will certainly get your taste buds going. We recommend basically everything, but don't leave without trying Da Funky Monkey Fries--whoa.

3. Farmhouse

This is no ordinary farmhouse, and its food isn't your typical down-home fare, either. Yes, it's comfort eats, but those eats have been elevated. Try the Amish chicken or the cheese curds that, I can't believe I'm saying this, rival ones from the neighbors up north.

Day 2: Champaign-Urbana

1. Courier Cafe

All we have to say is make sure you get here early, because it's hardly a secret that this place rules. The breakfast is superb. Get your classic pancakes, but also enjoy things like a tofu scramble.

2. Black Dog Smoke and Ale House

Maybe the best BBQ in Illinois is right here in the heart of the state. Definitely do not leave town without giving these guys a try. Again, we recommend getting there early, especially if you want the "burnt ends"--because a line of people will want them, too.

3. Destihl

Destihl is doing elevated food in a chic location. From pizzas to burgers to pasta dishes, you get amazing food and the prices will not blow you away, either. They also have a decent brewery.

Day 3: Carbondale

1. Harbaugh's Cafe

Harbaugh's has your classic breakfast, but they are serving up massive portions. The decor is eclectic, and being introduced to ranch potatoes is reason enough to visit this place.

2. Sabor de Mel

Ever had Brazilian food? If not, you need to. Passion fruit mousse? Fried plantains? Empanadas? Yes, indeed.

3. Quatro's

This isn't just any old pizza. Whether you want deep dish or thin crust, you will be blown away. They also have cheesy bread that will knock your socks off.
