For those of us looking for something a little more low-effort, Rabun County still has plenty to offer. Another underrated gem here is the magnificent Black Rock Mountain State Park. Sprawling over 1,700 acres, this place is the highest state park in Georgia. You'll find trails, cottages, and campsites here, but the real treat comes from the amazing views. Perhaps the best thing about the overlooks here is that you don't even have to hike to reach them. Black Rock State Park is magnificent and truly possesses some of the best views in Georgia. Unlike many other state parks, there are several roads open for vehicular traffic throughout the park.

Pull-off areas are scattered along the roads, so you can always get out and walk a short distance to a beautiful overlook.

The scenery here is unbeatable.

To reach some of the park's major landmarks, like the peak of the eponymous mountain, you'll have to lace up your hiking boots and hit the trails.

Black Rock Mountain State Park contains a network of trails, with a great variety of difficulty levels.

However, many aren't able to access the trails due to mobility issues or having young kids.
