5 Rural Restaurants Around Georgia That Are So Worth The Drive
It's easy to get so engrossed in our metropolitan dining scenes that you forget to check out some of the more rural restaurants in Georgia. Rural counties comprise much of the state when you consider that a county with fewer than 50,000 residents is considered rural. There are hundreds of restaurants in places like Atlanta and Macon, and the eateries in other areas of the state often don't get as much press or online attention. But for those of us in the know who love traveling all over the Peach State, there are tons of amazing rural restaurants in Georgia that deserve a visit. Here are just a few of our favorites:
1. Ila Restaurant: Ila
Ila Restaurant is in the little town of Ila, population 363. This meat-and-three spot has a delicious array of home-cooked goodness.
It's a tasty, old-school meat-and-three restaurant, the likes of which can be hard to come by nowadays. This is old-school Southern food, served up buffet-style.

2. Nick's Place: Crawfordville
Nick's Place in Crawfordsville, GA is a must-visit for those who love nostalgia. Stepping in the building feels like you entered a time capsule.
The diverse menu has something for everyone, with options including pasta, steak, burgers, and more.

3. Pit Stop Bar-B-Q & Grill: Tifton
BBQ is among many people's favorite foods, and you'll find plenty of great BBQ restaurants in Georgia. Don't skip out on this spot in Tifton.
This classic spot has been around for nearly 30 years and serves up delicious BBQ, burgers, and steaks.

4. Company Supply: Dublin
While Dublin is a city with a pretty sizable population and Laurens County has a growing population, it's still technically considered rural. This delicious spot could compete with any in larger cities, though!

5. Moby Dick: Colquitt
Colquitt (not to be confused with Colquitt County) is tucked away in the quiet southwestern part of the state. It's here that you'll find Moby Dick.
