There’s No Community In Georgia More Enchanting And Historic Than Adairsville
Adairsville, Georgia, is a historic town with numerous attractions, including historic buildings, shopping spots, and outdoor activities.
One of my favorite things about the Peach State is how historic the state is. You can find so much to learn about here, with colonial-era history, tons of old buildings, and even ancient Native American mounds in Georgia. It can feel like no matter where you are in the state, you're able to find history museums or historical sites to explore. However, some cities have more history to discover than others, and if you're looking for one of the most historic towns in Georgia, you'll find it in Adairsville. This little city of around 5,000 lies about halfway between Atlanta and Chattanooga, and it's got so much to see and do, despite having a small population. It's a charming place for a day trip or weekend getaway. Check this little city out:
Adairsville has an area of about nine square miles. The closest large cities are Calhoun and Rome, and it's about 60 miles north of Atlanta.
Despite its small size, Adairsville has a lot to offer visitors. Just strolling through the downtown area will show you plenty of historic buildings.
The Adairsville Welcome Center is tucked away in an old train depot.
Most people who are familiar with Adairsville know of it due to the city's Barnsley Resort, a 3,000-acre historic estate that's now one of the best places to stay in Adairsville.
Barnsley Resort has quite the history and is an idyllic retreat at any time of year.

For more shopping opportunities, you don't want to miss General Store & Mercantile Cafe. It's right on Adairsville's historic square and feels like a step back in time.

Want to spend some time outdoors? Manning Mill Park is a small park with an easy loop trail and plenty to explore.
This is such a charming town with a history that dates back to before the Civil War.
